The real value lies in creating custom skills tailored to specific workflows, which requires understanding the underlying CLI tools and scripting. Pre-built skills offer a starting point, but customization is key.

Let's learn that simple as possible, what on earth eight open claw skill is. By the end of this video, you're not only going to have the ability to access a pre-made ecosystem of a bunch of skills that upgrade your open claw, but in addition, I'm going to show you how to make custom ones that maybe only you care about. Does that sound good? Let's jump in. Two things. First thing, if you're like, "Corbin, I don't even have open claw set up." You got to watch my videos. Just find the video where I say how to set up open claw in a secure way. Do it. Second thing, I'll leave this in the description down below. This is clawhub.ai. This is going to be your move to get these kind of skills. Third thing, what is a skill, Corbin? Basically, think of it this way. Let's say you're a human and you have zero skills, but for 20 years of your entire life, you became a master at karate. A master at karate. What open claw skills do for you is basically take that 20 years of knowledge and pre-packs it into a skill that you add to your open claw. So, now your open claw can do karate. Okay? You get it? It makes it so it achieves and executes relevant things faster and better. What are some examples of skills? So, come over to clawhub, we can kind of see like, "Oh, GitHub." What does that mean? That means that it will essentially have all the relevant information of how to effectively use GitHub as a skill. Or alternatively, how to access the weather correctly and in effective manner. So, some very popular ones are like nano banana, notion. I know you love notion. A skill to create skills. Probably don't need this one. So, your next question might be is, "Corbin, how do I use a skill?" You will simply come to weather. You will scroll down here. You can copy this entire MD. Let's make our lives easy. You come to open claw. You can simply paste this in open claw. Hit enter. Proceed. Corbin, this wasn't the native way to do it. I don't care. Okay? What you got to realize is that a skill is simply an MD file. What is an MD file? Literally just text. Therefore, you can just copy over the skill MD file. And I'm going to say, "Make this a skill." What's going to happen is what's really cool about open claw is that you can get these skills from the clawhub, but also you can check them out over here. So, I already have a ton. I have a skill I customly made for GA4 analytics, Google Ads, Amago, Reddit Ads, Experiment Engine. These are very specific to what I created. And what you'll notice is that the weather MD example is actually a native skill already provided by open claw. It was created by the creator of open claw. And you can scroll down here and you can see it's here. Weather. Oh, disable. And we can disable it, enable it. It's already enabled, so obviously we can access the weather. I can know what the weather is in San Francisco. It's getting too hot here. It's too hot. But honestly, the real value, if you don't want to use maybe clawhub, is creating custom skills. So, let me show you how to create custom skill. I'm going to hit new chat. And in theory, I could have customized this weather skill to be like, "Hey, I don't care about weather in XYZ place. I only care about it in San Francisco." Let's create a custom skill though that is native to you. I'm going to come to a website called textsnippet.com. This sources all tech news into one place. You get expos, forms, everything you could ever love. to go to the CLI page. I'm going to copy the direction. This is going to give the open claw the ability to access relevant tech news that hits the feed every single second. I'm going to come here and say this. You're going to identify the type of skill you want to create and this doesn't have to connect to CLI. I'm just going to make it a little bit fancy. I'm going to create a new skill for the tech news and use textsnippet CLI to get updated tech news events and create a summary on a daily. I'm going to paste the copies from directions that we got from textsnippet here. I'm going to hit enter here. What this is going to do is it's going to create a new skill that we'll see here and then be able to call it, leverage it, and use it later on. In the specific context of this, this would be more of like a cron job. So, like every day at 8:00 a.m., I get like a summary of news articles that happened the day before or what's happening right now. And as we know with open claw, we can send it by Telegram and all these cool stuff. So, scope, we're going to say scope top stories and for now, just when I manually ask. I'm going to let it figure out the rest. Now, sometimes when you create a skill, it might need to restart your virtual machine or if it's done locally in order for it to enable it. What you'll notice if I come to skills, we have it right here. Tech news. Fetching summary of top tech news using the textsnippet CLI. And what I want you to know is that you're able to iterate on a skill. You can make a skill better. You can change a skill. You can do anything you want with a skill. But here we go. This works out and this is good to go now. You've effectively learned how to create skills and access skills for your open claw. Let's upgrade it. Give it karate. So, what I would rather do is you know these style videos. Make sure you have a like. I'll see you in the next open claw, open claw, open claw type of video.
