So, Claude Code has released a massive new feature that allows it to take control of your computer, such as your keyboard, your mouse, and even take screenshots on your behalf. Take a look at this demo. So, I have Dispatch in front of me, and I've sent a a message on my phone, which is going to be received on my computer, and I'm asking for Claude to be able to take control of my computer, open up Premiere Pro. Okay. Okay. And by the way, it's asking me for ver authentication, which I can allow on my on my phone. I don't even have to do this on my computer. And now it's going to open up Premiere Pro and follow the instructions that I had, which was download my latest video. SAS apps claude is the name and export it in a certain format for me. And the beautiful thing about this is that let's say I've left the office or I've left the house and I'm not going to be returning for 2 hours, but I know this video is going to take 2 hours to render. That's a massive pain for me to have to all of a sudden wait till I get back home, render, and now I've lost two hours. But with this newest feature, now Claude can take control of your computer and do tasks literally while you're out of the house. If you're at a coffee shop, if you're on a date, if you're at a party, if whatever you can do all of it from your phone, while you're out living your life. So now it's opened up Premiere Pro. Okay. And it's gone to the export tab. And now it's going to save this file onto our computer. So, it's just changed the name there. Okay, pretty cool stuff. And now it's going to change the location from the folder 25.0 to the downloads folder. It's now moving over to the downloads folder on our behalf here. And then it's going to save this video on our behalf. Awesome. So, everything is good to go. Now, it's going to reply back saying that the video is processing and it should be good to go by the time that I get home. Awesome. So, it's gone ahead and saved it. It's now going to send up a follow-up message saying video's been processed. Hopefully, by the time you get home, everything should be good to go. It sent that message off. If we scroll down here, we can take a look at that. Project is open and export settings are ready. Here's what I've got. Okay, perfect. So, use case number one is good to go. Now, if you guys want to use this feature, how you can do it is by opening up the Claude desktop app. And in the settings section, we can head over to general and we got this toggle for computer use. As long as you toggle this on, you're good to go and you can start using this immediately. Let me give you another demo here. Awesome. So, I'm going to go ahead and send over a new message here. Claude, I have a disaster on my hands. Currently, I got a new computer and the default browser is set to Safari. And I honestly can't live with myself using Safari as my default browser. So, can you please go into system preferences using computer mode and change this to Google for me? Awesome. So, we're going to fire that off. And the reason I love this is because we've all been there before. Like, you get a new computer, all your settings are crazy, and you have to navigate through system preferences to be able to update this kind of stuff. And it's always a headache. It's always a nightmare to have to sort this kind of stuff out, but now Claude can do it for us. So, I'm going to allow in the session the ability for it to take control of my computer and then open up system preferences and change this for us. And the alternative, mind you, for this is either I would spend like 5 to 10 minutes trying to go through this myself and then likely give up and then go straight over to Claude and ask it, "Hey, can you tell me exactly how to do this?" and it will give us a text response and uh hopefully it'll get it right. But depending on the particular um model or the computer or the the software patch that you've updated, it's always going to be slightly different. But now with it being able to take control of your computer, it's going to know the exact interface, go to the exact spot, and then be able to update it automatically on your behalf. We can see here that the default browser has uh it's found it and now it's just going through the process of updating this over to Google Chrome. Sweet. So there we go. Um it's gone ahead and updated it on our behalf and we're all set. It actually looks like it made a mistake there. And so interestingly enough, it's now self-correcting the mistake that it made. So it for whatever reason I have Chrome test. I don't I don't even know what that is, but it managed to go ahead and uh self-correct. Now it's bringing us back into um Claude Co-work and everything's good to go. The default web browser has been now changed to Google Chrome. Crisis averted. You can now rest easy, John. I love the fact that it even jokes around with me. Um that's hilarious. I didn't know that Claude actually had a sense of humor. Okay, cool. So, now what we're going to do is we're going to head back to Dispatch for the third and final use case of this video. And you can see that I'm sending over a message here. I'm saying, "Can you please open up an application that has the exact name whiteboard?" That's literally the name of the application. I need to take a screenshot. And again, it's asking me for permission. Let's say I left the house. I was racing to a client meeting and I needed this graphic to send over to them. I could just allow once from my phone. Again, I'm not touching anything on my computer here. And now Claude is going to take control of my computer. It's going to go to the whiteboard application. It's going to take a screenshot of that particular um of that particular picture and then it's going to send that over to us. So, we can see on the computer, here's a your whiteboard drawing. I now have it on my computer. I could email to the client, send a message on Slack to the team member, and so on and so forth. So, there's a lot of different use cases that you can use with this new upgrade. However, there's also limitations to this as well. Currently, this is version one. So obviously it's only going to get better over time. And the biggest limitation of this software right now is that there's like tier one um use cases that it doesn't do. So specifically, it's not going to be able to go into your codebase and update things on the fly for you. So you can't go in, for example, to your code space workspace and update the code. It's also not going to allow you to head over to Google Chrome and all of a sudden start going to websites and taking certain actions. So, what it can do is it can go to your internet. It can take screenshots, but it cannot click buttons, fill out forms, and all of that kind of stuff. If you do want to do that, you still have access through Claude. You just have to do this in a new task. It can spin up an agent to be able to take over your computer, but that's not using the computer mode. You just essentially tell it over here, hey, I want to go ahead and do something on Google Chrome and just make sure to download the Claude extension. Okay, and this is another feature, but I think it's worth pointing out here because this bypasses the biggest limitation of the computer use feature that they just released. Once this is downloaded, now all of a sudden Claude has access to Chrome and it can start taking actions on your behalf, like for example, filling out um job applications on Indeed automatically. Other than that, there's two other limitations. The first one is that this is currently only available on Mac computers. So, if you're on a Windows, unfortunately, for version one, you are out of luck. But I'm sure they're going to be rolling out new releases that allow this to go on to Windows computers in the future very soon. And number two is that it's also quite slow sometimes when you use it, but I'm sure it's going to speed up over time as they roll out more improvements. So, thanks guys so much for watching this video. I hope you found value in it. If you did, make sure to hit that subscribe button down below and that like button. And I'll see you in the next video.
